Possession of stolen property sold on Ebay investigation dropped

Possession of stolen property sold on Ebay investigation dropped

2018

Lance’s client contacted him regarding an NYPD investigation. The NYPD accused him of selling stolen property on Ebay to another person. Our client contacted us for help to minimize or reduce the risk of the investigation leading to an arrest. We contacted the NYPD and discussed the complaint they had and their reasons for wanting to arrest our client. After discussing the factual allegations, we argued that there was insufficient evidence for an arrest. We argued there was no probable cause. As a result, the NYPD reexamined their case and reluctantly agreed that there was not enough for an arrest and their investigation came to a close. No charges filed in criminal court.
