Community Service

NYC Court Ordered Community Service

Community service is a common sentence or requirement of a negotiated resolution in a criminal case. Community service is typically performed in parks and other city-owned places and buildings. It is performed in increments of days with ten days usually being the maximum amount. For example, if you are sentenced to 3 days of community service in a criminal case, you may have to report to a particular NYC park where you are assigned for a total of three days which might be performed all together or a day here and there scheduled in separate weeks.
