Felony Assault on a police officer in Brooklyn resolved with a violation, no criminal record, no jail, no probation
2016
Our Client accused of assaulting a police officer by running him over following an argument about being double parked. Client was a licensed professional facing a possible state prison sentence and, as a convicted felon, the end of his career. The Brooklyn District Attorney can be very aggressive when prosecuting assault cases in which the victim is a police or law enforcement officer. Conviction could have led to five years in state prison and a permanent felony conviction for a violent offense. Outcome: All criminal charges dropped, no criminal conviction, no jail time following negotiations with the prosecutor after we pressed the prosecutor for certain missing evidence that we detected.
