Theft of services (nightclub) warrant dismissed in Manhattan
2019
Lance’s client had been arrested years prior in a Manhattan nightclub for refusing to pay a large tab for alcohol and food that was run up by a large group of our client’s friends. Our client was arrested and given a desk appearance ticket for theft of services, pl 165.15, and released. Our client, who was visiting New York City at the time, never came back for the arraignment which was the court date listed on the desk appearance ticket. Years went by but when our client’s employer confronted our client about it, our client contacted us for help. We were able to get the warrant cleared and we reached a deal to have the underlying case dismissed and sealed as long as our client promised to not get arrested in New York for six months. We accepted this deal in our client’s absence because our client was not able to travel to New York for the final court date.
